Job Description

CONMED is seeking an enthusiastic learning and development specialist to help design and implement solutions to enhance employee engagement and deliver exceptional business results. A successful candidate for this role will have strong analytical and project management skills, an understanding of instructional design and organizational development principles, and a consultative approach to partnering with stakeholders to understand and address strategic business needs.

In this role, you will collaborate with the leader of learning & development to assess and prioritize business needs, research options, scope projects and deliver solutions that have a measurable impact on business outcomes. You will develop a wide variety of content, programs and resources in partnership with subject matter experts that contribute to upskilling, career development and increase organizational effectiveness. Because of your strong analytical skills, you will be able to monitor, assess and demonstrate the value of training and development interventions.

As a learning & development specialist, you will also play a key role in maintaining and evolving our corporate learning management system and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the identification of potential learning & organizational development needs and projects aligned to roadmap, using a data-driven approach to specify and evaluate outcomes as measured by learner experience, acquisition of skills and knowledge, behavior change and business outcomes.
  • Conduct needs assessment and identify potential improvements to existing training and content. Seek input from multiple stakeholders while considering compliance requirements and other interdependencies.
  • Research evidence-based best practices and recommends options to maximize training investments, transfer and outcomes. Proactively identify barriers, incorporate methods to reinforce training and provide recommendations to improve overall learning environment.
  • Effectively utilize a variety of methods used in training, learning and organizational development: needs assessment, focus groups, surveys, qualitative and quantitative evaluation, curriculum development, adult learning principles and job analysis.
  • Scope projects, manage timelines, coordinate resources and scheduling. Provide periodic programs and reviews.
  • Create a variety of content to meet the training needs: on-line, live, hands-on and interactive content.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and evolve our corporate learning management system, including responding to training support requests and questions, managing training assignments and plans, record entry, content uploads and implementing improvements to enhance the learner experience and training effectiveness.
  • Promote utilization of learning & development resources by seeking and incorporating feedback and devising ways to make resources more accessible and relevant.
  • Develop cohesive, relevant curricula by partnering with organizational leaders.
  • Use core instructional design principles and adult learning theories to maximize learningand training transfer.
  • Create and review training evaluation to continuously improve and update current training content and outcomes.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Degree in industrial and organizational psychology, or in a related field such as instructional design, preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills as shown by ability to build partnerships and motivate others.
  • Analytical aptitude and skills in statistical analysis, data visualization, Excel and PowerBI.
  • In-depth understanding of instructional design models curriculum development and learning theories.
  • Ability to navigate learning management systems and use content development software.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills, including PowerPoint.
  • Ability to leverage systems to automate and streamline processes.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.

0-20% travel.

This position is not eligible for employer-based visa sponsorship.

Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is 58,460 to 85,000. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
