Position Summary:

Plan, organize, and teach to promote successful student learning outcomes.

Requirements:


CCMA instructors must have a minimum of six years of full-time or the equivalent of part-time occupational experience as a medical assistant. Applicants must have documentation of industry certification when state or national industry certifications are available and applicable. Work experience as an LPN or RN in a medical office is acceptable with a license. Experience as a medical assistant can be gained in any medical office such as a physician, dentist, etc. It includes non-nursing duties such as secretarial, receptionist, and bookkeeper and can include assisting patients or doctors in clinical procedures.

St. Petersburg College Workforce Division is seeking an applicant who is interested in transforming the lives of our local businesses and students as an Apprenticeship Coordinator.

At a minimum, the essential functions of this position shall include:

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or

Current Medical Assisting certification

Previous experience teaching in a medical assisting program and/or working as a medical assistant.

Strong skills with technology and the use of technology in instruction.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Commitment to student success and an inclusive learning environment.

Medical Assistant Instructor duties include:

Essential Functions:

  • Ability and willingness to teach assigned course load to include lectures and lab covering clinical and administrative skills.
  • Class sessions are 4.5 hours in either day or evening sessions.
  • You learn the material and deliver lectures and demonstrations, working from the NHA lesson plans and curriculum.
  • This is a part-time position, typically 9-18 hours per week.
  • Providing clinical instruction..
  • Preparing student progress reports and grade reports
  • Maintaining accurate and timely attendance records
  • Attending faculty meetings
  • Maintaining professional qualifications through participation in continuing education programs, in-service training, and academic courses.
  • Perform other duties as required by the program coordinator, program director, Dean, or campus administration.
